Archie Thomas

Archie Thomas, CIA, FCPA, FCMA, CFE C.Dir, is a Consulting Internal Auditor. He has worked in fifteen countries in mining, energy, utilities, retail, education, health care and government. He is on the Advisory Council of ClearView Strategic Partners Inc, on the faculty of The Directors College, an IIA Distinguished Faculty Member and a qualified Internal Audit Quality Assessor/Validator. Previously Archie was CAE at a multi-national mining and metals group where he transformed a traditional internal audit department into a respected contributor to company performance. A dynamic speaker and passionate advocate for our profession, Archie believes our profession is at a crossroads requiring us to take the high road of professionalism, conformance with Standards, and increased value. Relatedly, he has participated in several guidance, quality, and professionalism projects for the IIA. Archie is a director of IIA Canada and a member of the Global IIA Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee. He is a past director of Global IIA and a past chair of its Audit, Quality and International Relations Committees. He is a recipient of the Global IIA’s Victor Z Brink Award for Distinguished Service and IIA Canada’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
