Hassan is a partner at Myers Norris Penny LLP (MNP), the largest Canadian accounting, advisory and implementation services firm. Hassan joined MNP through a 2016 merger with A Hundred Answers Inc. (AHA), where Hash was a Principal delivering advisory, digital and technology services across North America. Hassan works as an integrated team member of Privacy Analytics (wholly owned by QuintilesIMS), and has been working with Privacy Analytics since 2012.
Hassan (“Hash”) has 25 years of experience in strategic planning, data governance, risk management, information security and enterprise architecture. He helps his clients with information security, corporate strategy, enterprise risk, business architecture, enterprise reporting, technology strategy, IT governance and data privacy. Hassan leads a professionally diverse team of accountants, IT security professionals, engineers and finance professionals to deliver value to clients. Hassan previously spent 7 years with Ernst & Young, 7 years at Cognos and over 10 years with the Department of National Defence (DND). He was previously a Captain in the Canadian Air Force.
He has delivered numerous risk processes, internal control and audit related presentations for the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Finance Management Institute (FMI) and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). Hassan has been interviewed by the CBC radio for Identity theft and Back-Bone magazine for his views about the future of the Internet and Web 3.0.
Hassan holds numerous risk related professional designations in corporate governance, program risk, information systems audit, risk management and IT governance as well as being a Professional Engineer and a professional accountant (CPA). He is a Privacy by Design (PbD) Ambassador recognized by the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario. Hassan’ experience includes working with large global organization such as the UN, Royal Bank and Dell.
Hassan has extensive experience performing risk assessments and reviews in public sector and the private sector, addressing risks for business case reviews, procurement and expenditure assessments and project and program health-checks. Hassan has led numerous risk assessment for strategic projects and risk assessments in support of external audits, internal audits across functional areas, including for large program implementations and complex system conversions. Hassan has facilitated numerous risk and control work-shops, presented on numerous strategic topics and is also an experienced privacy risk trainer. He has recently delivered customized privacy risk training to private sector organizations and presented the pre-conference workshop at the May 2013 International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) conference in Toronto. Hassan leads a professionally diverse team of accountants, internal audit professionals, IT security professionals, engineers and finance professionals to deliver value to clients.
Hassan and his team have been working with Bruce and PSPC on several large imaging projects and has extensive experience with standards that allow images and electronic records (such as electronic audit evidence) to be relied in legal proceedings. This is increasingly critical in an increasingly digital world where the cost of hard-copy paper is costly and impactful to our environment.
